Treatment

Treatment for PNH patients in New Zealand is largely limited to supportive care.  While a bone marrow transplant is a curative treatment option, it is generally not considered due to significant associated risk factors.

Internationally, the use of compliment inhibition is considered best practise for treating classic manifestations of PNH. Unfortunately this treatment option is not funded by the New Zealand government.
